Revival Spark Series

9 Days of Prayer for Renewal

It Starts with a SPARK

We believe God wants to do something NEW in the Church. By the power of Jesus in the Eucharist, we believe we stand on the precipice of revival.

But revival is not something that WE do. It is a sovereign act of God in response to the prevailing prayers of his people.

Join us in praying for revival with the Spark Series—nine short daily reflections inviting you to open your heart to the renewal God desires.

If we but paused for a moment to consider attentively what takes place in this Sacrament, I am sure that the thought of Christ’s love for us would transform the coldness of our hearts into a fire of love and gratitude.

What are Eucharistic Missionaries?

EUCHARISTIC MISSIONARIES ARE INDIVIDUALS WHO ANSWER A PERSONAL CALL FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BE AN INSTRUMENT OF REVIVAL. THEY DO THIS IN THREE KEY WAYS:

  1. They offer sincere, prevailing prayer to God asking him to accomplish the sovereign work of revival—for it is his work to do!
  2. They model the authentic desire to experience a deep renewal of their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commit to ongoing formation and growth.
  3. They become the hands and feet of Jesus to bring his Good News to the mission field of their neighborhood and parish.

God is doing something new—and he is calling YOU to be a part of it!

Ready to be a part of something life-changing? Jesus needs each one of us to be his hands and feet throughout this Eucharistic Revival. We’re seeking laypeople, families, religious orders, and priests to volunteer their time, talents, and prayers in pursuit of the grassroots renewal our world so desperately needs.

Just as many humble pieces come together to form a glorious stained-glass image, so too will God use each of us, however ordinary or imperfect, to bring about this Revival. He only asks that you listen for his voice! Below you can respond to one—or all three—opportunities for participation.

Eucharistic Missionary Timeline

The role of the eucharistic missionaries will evolve throughout the revival—as will the resources available to them.

  1. During the Year of Diocesan Revival (now - June 2023), they will commit to increased prayer, fasting, formation, and evangelization.
  2. In the Year of Parish Revival (July 2023 - June 2024), you will stretch your boundaries and deepen these commitments—for example, by bringing Holy Communion to the homebound.
  3. And in the Year of Mission (July 2024 - June 2025), you will be sent forth in a special way to accompany those in need or at the margins with the good news of Jesus’ Real Presence!

Go Deeper

The first disciples were not sent out to change the world on day one! They had to get to know Jesus on a deep, personal level before their mission of evangelization could begin. The first step in this Revival is for each of us to do the same. The closer you are to Jesus, the easier it will be to hear his voice when he needs you to take action! Follow the Revival for weekly updates and inspiration from this groundbreaking movement.

The Eucharist draws us into Jesus' act of self-oblation. More than just statically receiving the incarnate Logos, we enter into the very dynamic of his self-giving.

Pope Benedict XVI

The Eucharist is essential for us: it is Christ who wishes to enter our lives and fill us with his grace.
